Adams County has selected David Ball as the new Facilities Management Director. Ball will oversee the department responsible for new construction and renovation, building repair and maintenance, environmental services, landscaping, equipment repair, preventative maintenance, solid waste pick up, and recycling.
“We’re excited to get someone with David’s talents and experience to lead our Facilities Management team,” said County Manager Todd Leopold. “David is the best candidate to handle the responsibilities of our current facilities, as well as those under construction.”
Before his move to Adams County, Ball served as the facilities management director for the City of Sunrise in Florida. He was also employed in a similar position for St. Luke’s Health System in Garnett, Kansas from 2011 to 2014. Previous to that, Ball was a field engineer for Blackmore & Glunt, working with the sales and installation of HVAC and plumbing products for commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial customers.
Ball earned a BA in Organizational Management from Ashford University. He also served in the Navy as a damage controlman and in the Army as an HVAC repairman.
Ball’s start date at Adams County is Monday, Dec. 5.
The Regional Transportation District (RTD), in coordination with Suncor and local emergency services will conduct an emergency preparedness drill for the N Line on Wednesday, Oct. 28, between the hours of 8 a.m. and noon. The drill will take place at RTD’s Commerce City/72nd Station, 3838 E. 72nd Ave.
The National Weather Service has extended the Red Flag warning for Adams County until 6 p.m. Weds., Oct. 14. A Red Flag Warning automatically places Adams County at Level 2 Fire Restrictions. No open burning is allowed until further notice. Those having burn permits issued by the Fire Chief CANNOT burn during Level 2.
