In a report just released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Adams County ranked second out of the largest 356 counties in the nation in employment growth in the third quarter of 2019.
Adams County’s employment growth jumped 5.3% during the third quarter last year, compared to an overall 1.1% increase in the United States. This ranking continues the trend after a recent BLS report revealed Adams County led the nation in job growth with a 5.3% increase from June 2018 to June 2019.
“It’s validating to see these employment numbers continue to lead the way not only in Colorado, but across the country,” said Board of County Commissioners Chair Emma Pinter. “We’re excited about the diversity of positions and broad range of industries that keep adding jobs and increasing their footprint in one of the fastest-growing counties in America.”
Adams County is working to bring in more jobs and economic potential with the recent launch of ChooseAdams.org, highlighting the county’s nine Opportunity ZEdit(active tab)ones, a program established in 2019 with the goal of encouraging economic development in urban and rural areas that have not kept pace with the rest of the county’s growing economy.
“The potential in these Opportunity Zones is already drawing attention from investors, and these nine areas will likely be the catalyst for future job growth in the county,” Pinter said.
Adams County is excited to announce songwriter, performer, and LGBTQ+ supporter, Bebe Rexha, as the headlining act for this year’s Adams County Pride event. The much-anticipated event returns to Riverdale Regional Park, 9755 Henderson Rd., Brighton, on Saturday, June 10. VIP and general admission concert tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb.
