The Adams County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, Aug. 29, appointed Raymond H. Gonzales as county manager. Gonzales has been serving as interim county manager since April 2017.
“In a short period of time, Ray has demonstrated the stability and leadership necessary to have an impact on the organization, our employees, and the residents we are all proud to serve,” said Board Chair Eva Henry. “We’re confident Ray will continue to foster the important relationships already in place with our partners while providing excellent oversight of the county’s daily administrative responsibilities.”
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to continue serving the community my family has called home for generations,” said Gonzales. “I look forward to working with our professional staff and our municipalities to sustain the progress that has been made across the county in terms of collaboration and service delivery to residents.”
Gonzales joined Adams County in 2013. He also worked as assistant city manager in Brighton and under secretary of labor for the state of New Mexico. He is a graduate of Brighton High School and Regis University.
