April 5, 2019 - Beginning tonight at 8 p.m., Peoria Street will close underneath I-70. The road will reopen at 9 a.m. and stay open during the day. It will close again on Saturday, April 6 from 8 p.m.-9 a.m. Construction crews will be setting bridge beams on the newly widened portions of the I-70 bridge over Peoria Street. Next weekend we will have a full closure of east and westbound I-70 from Colorado Boulevard to I-270 to set bridge beams over I-70 on the new I-270 flyover. To complete this work, the highway will be closed on April 12 at 10 p.m. to April 15 at 5 a.m. The main westbound detour is up I-270, to I-76, and down I-25. Reverse for the eastbound detour. I-70 will remain open between I-25 and Colorado Boulevard, with access to Washington Street, Brighton Boulevard, York Street, Steele Street/Vasquez Boulevard, and Colorado Boulevard. See detour map.
These closures will be input into Waze and Google Maps so drivers using GPS should not have any issues navigating the closure.

Suncor to Conduct Fire Extinguisher Training
Suncor’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) will conduct fire extinguisher training on Thursday, June 18, from approximately 1 to 3 p.m., at the Suncor Training Center. During training, there will likely be flames and smoke produced.
2020 Adams County Fair Canceled Due to Coronavirus Pandemic
Due to ongoing concerns regarding disease transmission in larger group settings that could result in additional outbreaks, the Adams County leadership team has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Adams County Fair. This year’s Adams County Fair would have marked the 116th year of festivities.

Location Changes for State Primary Voter Service and Polling Centers
Due to concerns of COVID-19 and to ensure social distancing at the polls, the Adams County Elections Department has updated the list of Voter Service and Polling Centers (VSPCs) for the State Primary on Tuesday, June 30.
The new VSPC locations are in larger buildings, allowing election workers and voters to maintain a six-foot distance and vote safely.
Children and Family Services Awarded Seals of Recognition for Second Consecutive Year
Last year, the Adams County Children and Family Services (CFS) Division, under the Human Services Department, became the first child welfare agency in Colorado awarded two seals from the Human Rights Campaign.

Adams County Partners with Chambers of Commerce to Provide Mini-Grants to Local Small Businesses
As part of its COVID-19 emergency response and recovery strategy, Adams County has partnered with several local Chambers of Commerce to develop a series of mini-grants in three categories to support small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 situation. Federal funding for the grants comes from the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress.
Adams Hollow Disc Golf Course to Reopen
