The Adams County Board of Commissioners today unanimously elected Emma Pinter as board chair for 2020. Pinter was elected to the board in 2018 and is serving her first term representing District 3.
“We’ve accomplished so much over the past year, including great advances in providing affordable housing options in Adams County and the development of Colorado Air and Space Port, and there is so much more to do,” said Pinter. “Given our incredible growth rate, 2020 will be an important year heading into the county’s future, and I’m honored to lead the board during this exciting time.”
Pinter expressed thanks to her mother for serving as an example and inspiration by participating in marches for the League of Women Voters in the 1970s and 1980s.
During college, Pinter drove to Colorado to work as a mountaineering guide and, after finishing law school, she and her husband started a family and founded a business in Westminster. Pinter was elected to Westminster City Council in 2013. She currently serves on the boards of the Child Welfare Allocation Committee, Rocky Mountain Cradle to Career’s Executive Committee, and Metro Denver Economic Development Corp’s Board of Governors. She was selected as the “Woman of Metro North” in 2018 by the Metro North Chamber.
Pinter inherits the board chair role from Commissioner Steve O’Dorisio, who just completed his second stint as chair. Commissioner Mary Hodge, representing District 5, was chosen unanimously as the board’s vice-chair for 2020.
