The 17th Judicial District (Adams and Broomfield Counties) and 17th Judicial District Access to Justice Committee is offering a free legal clinic, with attorneys available to answer questions on various areas of law, at the Adams County Justice Center on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.
The drop-in clinic at 1100 Judicial Center Drive in Brighton will run from 9 a.m.-noon and from 1-3:45 p.m. Attorneys will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and will spend up to 15 minutes with each attendee. The meetings will not constitute an attorney-client relationship, and all participants will be required to sign a waiver. Spanish-speaking interpreters will be available.
Areas of law in which attorneys will consult with attendees are divorce, custody, child support, tenant/landlord, eviction, traffic, juvenile, criminal, small claims, civil protection orders, county civil money cases, guardianship, conservatorship, estate planning, and probate.
Also available will be representatives from the Colorado Fraud Protection, Office of Dispute Resolution (mediation), Project Safeguard (Domestic Violence advocates), Child Support Services, Adams Co Workforce & Business Center and Senior Reach/Community Reach Center (Mental Health).

Suncor’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) will conduct fire extinguisher training Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from approximately 1-3 p.m. The fire extinguisher training will take place at the Plant 1 fire training grounds on the western edge of the Commerce City refinery property. During the training there will likely be flames and smoke produced. Local stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and local government officials have been notified.
A Jefferson County judge ordered the City and County of Denver to pay Adams County more than $33 million for violations of an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) regarding noise levels at Denver International Airport (DIA) during the years of 2014, 2015, and 2016. DIA was found in violation of 67 Class II noise exposure performance standards (NEPS) during the aforementioned years.
