Kristin Sullivan has been named director of the Adams County Community & Economic Development Department.
Sullivan joined Adams County in 2010 and has held various positions including Planning Manager, Economic Development Manager, Legislative Liaison, and most recently, Deputy Director of Community & Economic Development. Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in geography from Colgate University and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Colorado Denver.
“We’re excited to appoint Kristin as director for one of our most important and visible departments,” said County Manager Raymond Gonzales. “She has a tremendous amount of experience in the department and knows Adams County inside and out. Kristin is the perfect leader to build upon our recent successes and will continue to innovate on behalf of county residents.”
Sullivan recently led a redesign of the county’s development review functions and the implementation of the E-Permit Center, which allows county residents and developers to apply for, review, pay for, and print out building permits from any computer or mobile device. Sullivan also managed redevelopment of the ASARCO Globe smelter on the border of Denver and Adams County, now the location of Crossroads Commerce Park.
Suncor’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) will conduct fire extinguisher training Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from approximately 1-3 p.m. The fire extinguisher training will take place at the Plant 1 fire training grounds on the western edge of the Commerce City refinery property. During the training there will likely be flames and smoke produced. Local stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and local government officials have been notified.
A Jefferson County judge ordered the City and County of Denver to pay Adams County more than $33 million for violations of an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) regarding noise levels at Denver International Airport (DIA) during the years of 2014, 2015, and 2016. DIA was found in violation of 67 Class II noise exposure performance standards (NEPS) during the aforementioned years.
