Resource Fair for Adams County Residents

The Adams County Community Support team is hosting a free resource fair on Saturday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m-2 p.m., at Adams City High School, 7200 Quebec Pkwy., Commerce City.

Several local organizations, community partners, and Adams County departments will be onsite offering a wide array of low-cost or free services, food, and children’s games and activities.

Below is a list of a few of the organizations and services that will be available:

CDOT Construction Update - Region 1 Curb Ramps

CDOT and contractor, Noraa Concrete Construction Corporation are replacing 118 curb ramps and making public right of way improvements across Region 1 to meet new Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance guidelines and to support CDOT's four-year $85 million statewide initiative. The new ramps are wider, sloped for easier access, and finished with a slip-resistant texture to maximize public safety in all weather conditions.

Family Health Institute

The Adams County Head Start team will be hosting the inaugural Family Health Institute on Friday, Nov. 8, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Human Services Center Conference Center, 11860 Pecos St., Westminster. It will be a day of learning about health and nutrition for Adams County families. Discussions and learning sessions include:

Telephone Town Hall Canceled

Due to inclement weather, the telephone town hall scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29, has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. 

Crossing Pointe North Grand Opening

Adams County celebrated the grand opening of Crossing Pointe North, an affordable housing development for seniors, with its partners and building residents on Friday, Oct. 18.

Located at the corner of 104th Ave. and Colorado Blvd. in Thornton, Crossing Pointe North contains 64 apartments serving seniors aged 62 and up and is convenient to shopping, restaurants, open space, and the Thornton Crossing light rail station on RTD’s future N Line, which is in the final stages of testing before opening.

Twin Lakes Park Dedication

After more than two years of hard work, Twin Lakes Park in Adams County is looking better than ever. On Wednesday, Oct. 16, the Adams County Board of Commissioners and Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts staffgathered to celebrate the reopening of Twin Lakes Park. This 16-acre park renovation included bank stabilization of the lake, a new irrigation system and landscaping, additional trails and two new trail crossings, as well as playground replacement and shoreline access. Twin Lakes Park provides a connection to the Clear Creek Trail.
