DEA National Prescription Take Back Day - April 28

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and anonymous means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse and medications.

Traffic Advisory: Nighttime Closures of US-287/SH-128 (120th Ave.)

Sunday, April 8, through Saturday, April 14, the following closures for asphalt crack repair are in place:

  • From 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., US-287/SH-128 (120th Ave.) from Main Street to Melody Drive, will have intermittent mobile lane closures in both directions. 

Motorists can expect minor delays as crews conduct mobile repair operations. During the repairs, single lane closures can be expected.  No full road closures are planned. 

Water Well Testing

FREE Adams County Water Well Sampling Program

Adams County is offering this FREE program as a service to residents.

Adams County residents who are served by private water wells—and meet eligibility criteria—have the opportunity to have their drinking water analyzed for 76 water quality parameters. There is no cost for this service.

This is a one-year pilot program that is being offered by Adams County in conjunction with Tri-County Health Department to assist property owners in determining if their well water has potentially been impacted by oil and gas development or other contamination sources.

Riverdale Regional Park Rendering

Adoption of the 2018 Riverdale Regional Park Master Plan and Name

Today, the Adams County Board of Commissioners adopted the 2018 Riverdale Regional Park master plan and name after incorporating feedback from residents and community partners. The Adams County Parks & Open Space Department, in conjunction with a consultant team led by Design Workshop, have finalized a master plan and resolved a new name for the Adams County Regional Park & Fairgrounds that will now encompass more than 1,197 acres of land stretching from 120th Pkwy. and Riverdale Rd. to 136th Ave.

National Planning Achievement Award for ASARCO Redevelopment Project

Adams County has received the Gold 2018 National Planning Achievement Award for Economic Development Planning from the American Planning Association (APA). The award recognizes the initiative, A Return to Past Prosperity: The ASARCO Redevelopment Project, for transforming a toxic industrial plant into a vibrant, economic center. The ASARCO Redevelopment Project is one of 16 APA Achievement Award recipients this year.

Erin Brim Named Adams County Employee of All Seasons

The Board of County Commissioners announced Erin Brim, Recording Manager in the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, as the Adams County Employee of All Seasons at a recognition luncheon on Wednesday, March 21.

Erin began her career with the county in February 2013 as a Recording Technician for the Clerk and Recorder. She was promoted first to Recording Supervisor in 2015 and then to her current role as Recording Manager in December 2016.

Pet and Livestock Owners Cautioned About Rabies

The Colorado Department of Agriculture and Tri-County Health Department have confirmed that an alpaca in Douglas County has died due to a rabies infection. Pet owners are urged to check records to ensure rabies vaccinations are up-to-date. Livestock can also be infected with rabies and owners are encouraged to discuss the risk of rabies exposure with their local veterinarian.

Grand Opening of the Assessor's New Satellite Office

Join us for the grand opening of the Assessor's new satellite office at the Pete Mirelez Human Services Center, 11860 N. Pecos St., Westminster, on Thursday, March 15. This office will be full service, including senior exemption applications and mobile home needs. It will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Suncor to Conduct Planned Maintenance at Commerce City Refinery

Starting next week, Suncor will begin a higher level of planned maintenance at their Commerce City refinery. This increased level of work occurs routinely every two to three years and is part of maintaining asset integrity. It is scheduled to last through mid-April 2018.
